Results of the SaveUA Foundation's work in 2023

Dear friends, let's summarize the results of the year. A lot has been done. Even more is planned. 

As long as the enemy is on our land, we continue to keep a strong rear and provide basic necessities, food sets and medicines to Ukrainians affected by the war.  

In 2023, the team of the SaveUA Foundation, with the support of the Ukrainian Agri Council ("UAC"), the Association of Milk Producers and the Аssociation of Ukrainian Pig Breeders, provided: 

  • 157,000 food sets, feeding about 470,000 Ukrainians;
  • more than 67 thousand units of medicines and medical supplies, providing more than 70 medical institutions in 9 regions of Ukraine, as well as two electrosurgical generators and an operating lamp for surgeons to save as many patients' lives as possible;
  • 15 modern special vehicles for rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv and Sumy regions for brigades of frontline and de-occupied regions engaged in humanitarian demining;
  • the latest equipment for power engineers to maintain and eliminate emergencies in several regions;
  • 8 generators for agricultural enterprises in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovs'k regions;
  • water purification filters - 10,000 pcs;
  • 203 barrels and 700 jerry cans for drinking water;
  • 68,831 units of humanitarian aid to Kherson residents affected by the aggressor's explosion of the Kakhovka HPP, including water purification filters and disinfectant tablets, mats and sleeping bags, body warmers, personal hygiene products, radio lights, etc;
  • through the mediation of the Аssociation of Ukrainian Pig Breeders and the team of the SaveUA Foundation, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection received about 50 units of laboratory equipment from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), worth almost $350 thousand, designed to preserve the health, maintain production and ensure the welfare of animals in Ukraine;

In addition, to support food security and livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Chernihiv and Sumy regions affected by the war in Ukraine, we provided:

  • 700 tons of barley, 450 tons of wheat, 9,000 sets of vegetable seeds and 950 tons of potatoes for a total of 10,000 rural households;
  • 3000 bags of sunflower and 4400 bags of corn for a total of 740 rural households;
  • 21,000 day-old broiler chickens and 17,500 tons of feed for 700 beneficiaries - vulnerable rural population of Okhtyrka community, Sumy region and Mena city territorial community, Chernihiv region.
  • together with donors from Slovakia and the UAC, handed over 72 tons of fertilizers for agricultural enterprises in Kherson region.

We are proud of the initiative of our parent organizations, the Ukrainian Agrarian Lyceum (UAL) and the Ukrainian Children's Academy (UCA), which this year provided scholarships for students, including those from IDP families. In total, 28 students received scholarships, including: 17 lyceum students of the ULA and 9 academics from grades 1-9 of the UDA.

The founder of the foundation paid much attention to international activities:

  • In April, in Rome, the head of the SaveUA Foundation and the Ukrainian Agri Council, Andriy Dykun, with the support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture of Italy, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the most influential agricultural associations Coldiretti and Filiera Italia. The document envisages assistance to Ukraine, first of all, in the process of demining agricultural land and restoring damaged agricultural machinery;
  • in August, meetings were held with specialized European associations, parliamentarians and ministers, in particular, Andriy Dykun, together with the members of the UAC, met with the Chairman of the Committee on Economy Kazis Starkevicius, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Žygimantas Pavilionis, Chairman of the Committee on Rural Affairs Viktoras Pranckietis and members of these three committees in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • more than 900 publications were published in influential global media with comments from the Foundation's team and our parent organization, the Ukrainian Agri Council (UAC).

The support of the international community is extremely important for Ukraine and for the work of our team.
