USAID – Food security of Ukraine

SaveUA together with the Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (AMPU) and USAID Program for Agriculture and Rural Development - AGRO implement a joint project that starts in August 2022.

USAID is the highest federal agency of the USA for state aid management abroad. Thanks to the Agency of International Development American people have been providing economic and humanitarian assistance around the world for more than 50 years. 

The contract provides the implementation of the project: "Support of MSMEs in the dairy sector (milk production) for ensuring food security of Ukraine". The goal of the project is to support the strategic direction of agricultural production - dairy cattle breeding by providing high-quality consumables for preventive measures and treatment of animals.

Beneficiaries are 220 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in milk production and jointly keeping 38,000 cows. They will receive precautionary, curative veterinary medicines and vaccines which they need to prevent herd reduction, improve health and productivity of dairy cows. 

Thanks to the project, farmers will be able to produce 185,000 tons of milk, which is enough to provide 1 million people with dairy products.

Geography of the project: Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kharkiv regions.

The project is implemented with the support of American people provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the framework of the USAID Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRO), which is carried out by Chemonics International.
