On July 1, 2022, the international charity foundation SaveUA and the public union Ukrainian Agri Council ("UAC") started cooperation with the World Central Kitchen Foundation.
World Central Kitchen (WCK) is one of the largest American foundations. It specializes in providing food to people affected by wars, pandemics and natural disasters.
With the support of WCK, from the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, another humanitarian headquarters was opened in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region. Our team has been preparing and delivering 29,000 food packages every week to Ukrainians who needed support during the war.
"Cooperation with World Central Kitchen is important not only in terms of helping people in need and creating jobs, but also in terms of supporting domestic producers. The initiative does not sell imported products, but exclusively Ukrainian agricultural products, which are currently facing problems with sales due to the blockade of Russian sea routes. Currently, the project has opened a center in the Uman city territorial community, where 7,000 IDPs are registered. We also send food packages to the nearest regions, which is logistically justified," said Andriy Dykun, Head of the UAC.
The package included 24 types of products. All the products were made by Ukrainian brands, which provided Ukrainian companies with orders and people with jobs.
The project was implemented in 4 regions: Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad and Khmelnytsky regions.
