The amount of direct losses caused to Ukraine's agriculture and land resources by Russia has increased by $2.1 billion and now stands at $8.7 billion. Unfortunately, the numbers are growing, but the SaveUA team is constantly working to find new ways to support Ukrainian farmers.
Our foundation has become a partner of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the framework of the Organization's response program for Ukraine for 2023, which aims to support the most affected rural households to meet their families' food and nutrition needs. Under this program, FAO will provide assistance to 3,000 smallholder farmers in nine regions of Ukraine. Each recipient will receive 2,000 kilograms of spring crop seeds, which will allow them to sow 10 hectares of land.
The SaveUA team, with the support of FAO, has already started distributing the seeds to farmers in Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
We support farmers so that they can restore their farms and ensure national food security. We are grateful to our partners for supporting the agricultural sector in the most difficult times.
