Thousands of people in the de-occupied territories suffer from a lack of quality drinking water, and tens of thousands more have been left without access to clean and safe drinking water due to the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
To meet the basic daily needs of the residents of the affected regions, the Foundation's team, with the support of our regular partners and friends, has been working to provide them with water: Rotary Club Estoi Palace International, De Leeuw Kyiv, Nazava Water Filters and Kees Huizinga personally.
The system is easy to use, does not require electricity and helps to get up to 2 liters of purified water per hour.
As of February 2024, our team has provided 21 000 water purification filters to residents in the de-occupied territories and to Ukrainians affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. In addition, 1000 filters were delivered to our defenders serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The filters were provided to residents of Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.
